Preparation Process for Essay (Articulation)

1) My argument Write your argument in one sentence. Then, spend some time explaining it. My argument is that we must not guarantee the anonymity on the Internet. Most people argue that we should guarantee the anonymity on the Internet for the freedom of expression. However I think that because of the large amount of damages caused by the anonymity, we should not guarantee the anonymity on the Internet.  


2) How I found my argument Explain how your research helped you find your argument. Or, in other words, how did your research evolve into your argument? Start with your research question.The news that lots of celebrities die or suffer from the malicious comment made me shocked. It was because malicious comments was not a directional hurt like stabbing or diseases. Also I was surprised at the fact that people can give up their life because of the psychological scars.

In Harvard Sampler, there is a chapter dealing with a Internet and the liberty in cyber space. Anonymity on the Internet is also related with the liberty in the cyber space because (in some cases) anonymity violates the liberty of expression on the Internet.
